Family Tree Parenting
We invite the whole family tree: moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and all those raising children to explore their experiences as caregivers.
Combining Janet Fox's Traditional Parenting Program and Nobody's Perfect Parenting, we explore the everyday challenges of parenting, Indigenous traditional teachings, and the impact of residential schools and trauma on our families.
Before each program starts, we have intake meetings with everyone who is registered so facilitators get an idea of caregivers' topics and interests and the caregivers get a sense of what the program will be like. We only cover topics the group members have identified as important to them.
At the heart of this program we recognize the wide variety of how family is defined and see the love, strength and desire to do our best by our children at the heart of them all.
The program is run 3 times a year in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. It is a closed group and registration is required.
For more information, please contact Jess at jess@npdwc.org or (204) 947-0321.
