Tara started at the Women's Centre in 2011 as a practicum student. She held various positions, including Youth Outreach Worker and Safety Coordinator, before becoming Executive Director in 2015. She is passionate about her work, her son and her pets, and spending time in nature.

Christie Paul

Christie joined the Women’s Centre team in 2010. She is married and has a blended family of five children and three grandchildren. Embracing life as a spiritual journey is her purpose and sharing that journey with other women has become her passion.

Gladys Marinko
Knowledge Keeper gladys@npdwc.org As an intergenerational survivor, Gladys is committed to working on reclaiming our traditional ways of life and follows a spiritual path. She started at NPDWC as a part time relief worker, then shared teachings with various programs and is now in the Knowledge Keeper role at the Centre. Gladys is a mom of four awesome people – three sons and one daughter and she has one amazing cat – Mr. Noodles. Gladys has a love for family, community, life-long learning, and sharing. She also loves visiting, sewing, singing and drumming, and tea. |
Grace Akerstream Laing
Mama Bear Clan Coordinator mamabearclan@npdwc.org Grace joined the NPDWC team in 2020. Prior to joining our team she was a Program Coordinator with Boys and Girls Club. Grace was raised in the North Point Douglas community; she has a deep-rooted passion for helping others and community building. Grace has two energetic fur babies and she enjoys travelling, hiking, being in nature, and spending time with her loved ones. |
Chantelle Lambert-St. Germaine
Drop-In Coordinator chantelle@npdwc.org Chantelle joined the NPDWC Drop-In Team in early 2021 as a casual staff. In 2022 she became one of two Drop-In Coordinators. She was born and raised in Winnipeg, spending most of her life in the North End. She has relatable life experiences and is excited to work within the community. Chantelle has one 16 year old son. She enjoys spending time with her many siblings and loved ones. |

Bernadette started volunteering with Mama Bear Clan in 2018 and fell in love with the work. She became an MBC Captain in 2019, and joined the NPDWC staff team in 2022. Bernadette is passionate about helping the community. She is very excited to have the opportunity to be one of the Drop-In Coordinators at NPDWC. Bernadette fosters dogs and is part of a nonprofit called The Doughnators that makes perogies to fundraise for animal rescues' vet bills. In her free time she likes to craft, cook, hike, and play slo-pitch.

Laur was born and raised in Winnipeg and works closely with community organizations including Save Our Seine and The Shameless Circle. She is passionate about plants, diabetes education, and her two dogs.

Ashley Knight
Volunteer Coordinator volunteer@npdwc.org Ashley joined the NPDWC team in 2021. Prior to joining our team, she worked at a local addiction treatment centre. As a Métis woman, Ashley strongly believes in the importance of community. She hopes to use her personal and professional experience to work with the NPDWC team to meet people where they’re at and support them in creating strong communities. Ashley is also a proud mom of two, loves cooking, and is usually holding at least one cat. |
Dianne Cross
Counsellor/Traditional Helper dianne@npdwc.org Dianne - "Dancing Fox" - joined the NPDWC team in 2020. She grew up on the land near Lockport, MB. She is a mother, grandmother, and helper. She has been extremely fortunate for the Elders, teachers and mentors in her life who have helped guide her along her own traditional and spiritual journey. Dianne has worked in Social Services for 12 years and she is passionate and dedicated in assisting others on their own healing journey in any way she can. |

Angela Griffith
Skaabe Ikwe (Woman Helper) angela@npdwc.org Angela joined NPDWC in 2021. Her roots are in Turtle Mountain and George Gordon First Nation but she was raised in Brandon, MB. A proud wiisaakode’kwe, she has been walking the red road for six years. The last five years she has focused on Indigenous Birth Work and traditional parenting. She has four amazing children that keep her on her toes. Angela has an array of experience working with problematic substance use, trauma healing, advocacy, and support work. Her passion is decolonizing by helping other parents build their birth/parenting bundles. |

Rayanne Atatise
Rayanne started working at the Women’s Centre in 2021, first as a summer student and then as a member of the Drop-in Team. She is an Ojibway woman from Long Plain First Nation. She is a full time university student with a passion for learning more academically and about her culture. Rayanne has two fur babies and enjoys reading, anime, and spending time with her family.
